GIMP, tablet, custom brushes, unknown amount of time.
I got inspiration in Friday (fun fun fun fun!) when I was cycling through our town. Sun had set behind the hills, but the hills were still having that yellow/golden/orange evening sunlight. From south, really dark clouds were moving and I just regret I didn't have a camera. And yes, I tried to imitate that strange atmosphere I saw on Friday.
