Ain't going anywhere

Description

Funny fact about the image: Dragon, shelter and man at first didn't suppose to be there.

But, as it happened, man and dragon appeared on the mountain pass in the middle of a snowstorm. Walking in the blizzard itself is suicidal, let alone flying. Windmill and building next to it are both locked with nobody inside, so man decided to build himself a shelter. But he has some problems...

I had quite some fun making this, and I "invented" myself new kind of caligraphic brush... With chalk-on-concrete effect.

Things that didn't went as I envisioned:
-dragon
-guy in background
-windmill

I like this piece, very much so. And it's so much stronger than a lot of your older work. I'll go for the good points first.

-The power of the storm and the effect you've created is very poignant. Also, the fire is very realistic.
-Your proportions and perspective are excellent, as always. You're very good at keeping things looking like the should at the right distances <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" title=";) (Wink)"/>
-The lighting, and the way it affects each object is great and shows you have a distinct understanding of that.
-I like the windmill ^^

And now... the things you need to work on.

-It's quite... noisy. With the snow and the lightning and the fire and the things that are going on in the picture, it plays havoc with your eyes.
-The main part of the picture (guy, dragon, windmill) are tucked away in the corner. You can barely see them. You need to identify the most important part of the picture and work around it, not add it in at the side. Too much space is taken up with weather. MOAR dragons!
-The fire doesn't affect the colours of the dragon etc. It's a small point, but still important.
-Clouds are less realistic than I'd hope. They're too pointy. Smoooooooth <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" title=";) (Wink)"/>

Overall, I don't think this is your best, but with a few tweaks I definitely think it could become so. Keep up the good work, Karry <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" title=";) (Wink)"/>
And as I mentioned, I like the windmill ^^
