Mirtvil and the Beast

Beast (the creature that looks exactly like a dragon) and Mirtvil (man). They both belong to one of my writing projects.

This was a pleasure to make yesterday, but pain in my ass once I got to background (read: failing started).

GIMP as software, Trust TB-7300 as graphic tablet.
Used custom brushes.
Size: Smaller than usual, namely 1425x860

And again I has no idea about subcategory.

Self-criticism:
_{I have managed to get rid of numerous mistakes since this arrived to Facebook (those cosmetical), but some (more permanent) still remain.
In general, that spruce tree behind the Beast is a fail, Mirtvil is a fail (I seriously fail at drawing human & humanoids), back leg is nice fail, then wings and tail are also lesser fails... Then forest right behind the three trees isn't really the best, lake and reflections are kinda fail and the settlement on the cliff. Grass is not really the best as well.
I see that I haven't done light as well as I should.
I also didn't stick to one style: If you take a look you'll find that I've done Beast and Mirtvil in sketch-then-color style, while background generally isn't sketched.}
