Description

This is pretty unusual technique for me. I haven't used it for deviantART (though I used it's sister technique, tempera/acrylic (?) about a year and a half ago (I think).

...Maybe I'll change it with a scan version. I've done taken this with camera and it's most successful photo of it. Edited contrast and saturation a bit since cameras are notorious to fuck those things up. Espcecially contrast. Scanners don't fail so awfully at tasks of this kind. At least light is pretty much fucked up. I also added signature on computer since I didn't have any tempera within the grasp of my hand to sign it when I was making it.

Yes. Ballpoint pen for basic outlines, watercolor for painting.

It was this artwork that inspired me to use watercolors at least for coloring.

It hasn't turned out the way I imagined it but it turned out better than expected. I was afraid it'll result in bigger fail.
Unfortunately, I've ruined two "zero-brushes" for thin lines. (Home made though, original diameter cut so it was really thin (and long and at most times annoying to paint with. Still, details turned out well with that brush). :noes:

I think I could do traditional artwork more often... If I only had more time... :(

The Escape
An old mage and a young warrior were fleeing the castle on the back of their friend dragon, with landlord's guard on their tail. They had a head-start, and that was something, though guard, mounted on wyverns - all smaller than dragon - was closing fast.

"I said he wasn't here," said the mage. They were seeking for warrior's brother who'd been taken a month ago as he didn't like their landlord too much. In fact, no man liked him, and there was talk of getting rid of the landlord. Warrior's brother - who was also a warrior - was the first to speak of that louder than he should for the sake of his own safety. In attack that was planned, he would be leading the people, but as he was caught, so attack was canceled.
"It was worth of trying," said young warrior. "I guess he has some dungeons somewhere else." Or he just killed him. Threw him off the wall. No one would ever find a body if that happened. And so warrior drifted away with his thoughts, thinking of all horror - though he soon woke up. Landlord's guard was soon in the reach of longbow, and warrior soon found an arrow hissing right past his right ear. He immediately took his longbow, managing to shot two of landlord's guard off the wyvern - though both wyverns remained flying, untill all four surrounded them. Dragon soon took out one, ripping creature's chest with his claws. In the same moment, mage cast a spell and freezed another wyvern. Third wyvern, who came too close to dragon's tail got slapped and warrior found a week spot on the bottom part of it's throat, and fired.

The last of Landlord's guard decided to flee when he saw that they were taken out so quickly. As he headed back for the castle, dragon wanted to follow him but mage stopped the dragon - they had to go on. But warrior, however, who was facing direction they were coming from all the time, got opportunity to shot down the remaining of the landlord guard. He missed once, he missed twice and when he wanted to fire for the third time, he found his quiver empty.
He cursed. He had never wasted full quiver of arrows to get rid of enemies that he could count on the fingers of one hand. He wasn't pleased at all.
